Waterfall Week: waterfall hike

Event Date:
03/19/2011

Join us for Waterfall Week! Visit one of our many waterfalls or take a guided hike with the park naturalist. Views of waterfalls can be easily seen from the Mill parking lot and Twin Falls parking lot. Visitors are welcome to hike along trails into the Gorge with precaution and should check the Great Falls release schedule before hiking below the Dam and Powerhouse. A few smaller falls you can hike to: Baby Falls along the Eagle Trail, Little Falls off the Downstream Trail and Waterfall seeps along the Blue Hole Trail. Below are a few guided hikes we will offer March 19th and 20th. Registration not required. Trail maps and more information may be accessed at the park's visitor center, website and facebook page.

1:00pm Blue Hole Hike: Meet Ranger at the Blue Hole Trailhead (2nd right from the entrance of the park). This is an extremely steep, wet, & rugged 0.5 mile one way trail that winds down and along beautiful waterfalls and seeps. It is very strenuous & has many steep steps, but sure to please with numerous ferns, mosses and wildflowers. Sturdy shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting wet/muddy are required.
